My Poems

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,And sorry I could not travel bothAnd be one traveler, long I stoodAnd looked down one as far as I couldTo where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair,And having perhaps the better claim,Because it was grassy and wanted wear;Though as for that the passing thereHad worn them really about the same,And both that morning equally layIn leaves no step had trodden black.Oh, I kept the first for another day!Yet knowing how way leads on to way,I doubted if I should ever come back.I shall be telling this with a sighSomewhere ages and ages hence:Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.

Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost
Nature's first green is gold,Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf.So Eden sank to grief,So dawn goes down to day.Nothing gold can stay.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village, though; He will not see me stopping hereTo watch his woods fill up with snow.My little horse must think it queerTo stop without a farmhouse nearBetween the woods and frozen lakeThe darkest evening of the year.He gives his harness bells a shakeTo ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound's the sweepOf easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep,But I have promises to keep,And miles to go before I sleep,And miles to go before I sleep.

Reality Shows

I am a faithful reality telivision watcher. I beleive it makes for good tv. It puts real people into real situations. I don't believe these shows are scripted, when some people think they are. Shows like the Amazing Race follow teams while they travel the world, learn foriegn customs, and embark on risky challenges to overcome their fears. Survivor is a show of people left on an island to fend for themselves. They are in teams, but people only think about themselves. They starve, freeze, and fight for their lives just to win a million dollars. Shows like these really bring my attention, because I think they are interesting and real.

The Lion King

The Lion King is my favorite movie for many reasons. It is about a lion cub who is soon to be the heir to the kingdom. His father dies, and is led to beleive he was the cause. He ran away and came back when he was a more mature lion. He was afraid to go back. He faught his uncle, Scar, for the throne and ended up victorious. This movie was a children's traditional Disney movie, but it was really more. It taught lessons of bravery, and what situations don't require your bravery. A small cub went through so much in his short lifetime, but overcome it all to protect himself and his family.

A Summer Getaway

The ideal vacation for me is just a place not to worry and relax. I want to lay on the coast of Jamaica and take it in. I don't want to see anyone I know, besides my family. I don't want to be rushed. I want to go unplanned of what I will be doing for my trip. I want to be surprised. Living in the moment is a thing I do. I love not knowing what I am going to be doing the next day. Laying in a beach chair soaking up the sun, and listening to the ocean sway in it's daily motion. It's peaceful. The worst part of this trip is the end, knowing that soon you will be back to your daily, stressful life.

My Favorite Family Celebration

My family is just a typical American family. Every Christmas my mom's side of the family gets together at my grandma's house, in Elizebethtown, Kentucky. Even though she is now desised we still make it a priority to see each other. This prior Christmas was our first without her. We all cram together in her living room and exchange presents. After we are done we gather for dinner, and we sit and chat. We also play "Apples to Apples". It is a game that the whole family can play. and it's just a good time. I love sitting around in a circle with the people that I love and playing that game for hours.

Small Town USA

Linton, Indiana is just your typical small town. People from a small town dont really get the jest of the simple life. We don't have huge shopping malls or freeways. We have to travel 45 minutes to an hour to find the nearest mall. We have tons of farm land around us. Don't think we can't survive in this town. We have everything we need. We have plenty of choices for food, we have a wal-mart, a city park, and many recreatinal things to do. I love this town. It has been my home for 17 years and I can't ever imagine leaving it. You may now understand that life is just about shopping in designer stores, and eating at fancy restraunts, it is about how you live it. I have had more fun here than I would have in any big city, because I have the freedom to frolic and play without worrying.
